
Polydeykis was born in Athens in the 1980s. He heard the call of the Muses at an early age and turned his creative efforts towards music. He studied accordion and music theory and is self-taught on the guitar. His recordings have been released both in Greece and abroad.
Studies and research
His academic path began with undergraduate and postgraduate studies in law, specialising in criminal law and criminal procedure. He is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Humanities at Democritus University of Thrace, researching the use of medieval sources in the work of J. R. R. Tolkien.
A life in music
In 2002 he founded the epic metal band Sacred Blood, of which he remains the mainstay and principal creator. He has released three albums with Sacred Blood and one with his personal folk metal project Athlos. He also participates in the international folk project Folkearth, contributing music, lyrics and performances on accordion, guitar, keyboards, flute and other instruments.
Storytelling and articles
His passion for tradition and folklore led him to create the Greek-language storytelling podcast Tales and Stories from Europe and Greece, which has received hundreds of thousands of plays. He presents traditional stories from Greece and the rest of Europe, alongside original tales of his own written in the style of traditional storytelling.
He also writes a weekly column for Greek Fantasy Atlas, one of the most active Greek online communities dedicated to fantasy literature and its creators. His accessible articles explore Norse mythology, Arthurian tradition and fantasy literature. He also publishes book reviews and opinion pieces on mythology, literature and contemporary fantasy.
